SYNOPSIS

After several years away, Lena returns home in the midst of a deep emotional crisis. Her return won't be easy due to her vulnerable situation and the memory loss of her grandfather Juan, with whom the young woman has always maintained a very special relationship.

Navigating misunderstanding, fear, and guilt, and aiming to give her grandfather one last happy memory, Lena embarks on a search for an old film lost in the vast family archive, which depicts a crucial moment in the old man's past. Along the way, she will learn to forgive herself and, in the process, understand that sometimes, in order to move forward, you have to go back.

“Desmadre” is a dramedy with touches of fantasy and horror that presents the lives of five mothers in modern-day Lima.

Their most effective weapon, though sometimes their greatest enemy, will be their powerful imagination, with which they can materialize their deepest fears and desires for the audience.
